What to Bring

  • Three season sleeping bag (rated to 0 degrees Celsius)
  • Back pack for an overnight trip
  • Rain gear and/or windbreaker
  • Medium weight hiking boots with a profiled sole
  • Warm clothes: 3 pair of wool socks, gloves, head cover,sweater, long underwear, for glacier walk and alpine hike
  • Bathing suit
  • Water bottle, flashlight, whistle, running shoes
  • Camera and more film than you would normally take





We supply high quality camping gear: tents & ground sheet, canoes, life vests, paddling gloves, satellite telephone, and medical kit.

Note: Cotton is not a good choice for cool or wet weather, Gore-Tex is best.

Gernot Dick, the founder of Atlin Centre, is experienced in mountaineering, winter and summer camping, canoeing, photography, and natural history. He has worked for many years in adult and outdoor education. He combines his love of the outdoors, his curiosity about nature and wildlife, his sense of humor and compassion, and his extensive knowledge of the Atlin area wilderness to plan and lead trips that are safe and entertaining!
