10-day Atlin Quest  Wilderness Adventure
Alpine Hiking, Canoeing and Camping Adventures in magic Atlin Lake.   A wilderness experience interwoven with assistance in landscape sketching/painting or photography.

We offer a 10% discount from the total fee if you take the following 10-day "Art Adventure in the Wilderness" program in combination with this program.

10-day Art Adventure in the Wilderness
Sketching, Painting, Sculpting, Photography, Writing,
interwoven with Hiking, Boating, Camping, Seeing

We offer a 10% discount from the total fee if you take the prior 10-day Atlin Quest Wilderness Adventure in combination with this program.
Most Participants register as early as February. If you want to assure

           Discounts: 
Special Discount: If you sign up for both programs, we offer a 10% discount from the total fees and free accommodation for the day between the two programs.
Special Offer: If you bring a family member or a friend(s), for each additional person we offer you $100. 
Student Discount: Full-time students receive a 10% discount on either of the two programs (Art Workshop or Wilderness Program).

Most participants register as early as March. If you want to assure yourself a place, please register early.  Payments can be made by sending us a cheque by mail, in Canadian or US funds, payable to Gernot Dick.

For your Convenience: Bus transportation from the Whitehorse Airport to Atlin/Atlin Centre with the Art Centre Bus is available on the specific arrival and departure days. Round trip $35, one-way $20.
Look in Location & Travel Information to check for the date of the specific arrival and departure days.  But if you like, you're also welcome to arrive a few days early and stay a few days after your program ends, at no extra charge. But in this case you depend on the Atlin Express Bus.
The Atlin Express Bus goes just on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
, leaving from the Greyhound Station in Whitehorse for Atlin at 12 noon, and leaving Atlin for Whitehorse on the same weekdays at 6:15 am. Round trip $56, one way fee $28. For reservation call 1-250-651-7575. If you are traveling from Whitehorse to Atlin with the Atlin Express Bus and not with the Art Centre Bus, please inform us of your arrival day in Atlin. 

What to bring: 

Bring the art supplies of your own choice.
If you need a field easel or stool, bring it with you.   If your luggage gets too bulky, you can send some of it a few weeks prior by mail.


Art Kit suggestion:
  • 1x A5 sketchbook 110Gsm with Acid Free Cartridge
  • 1 x set of 12 oil pastels (water soluble)
  • 1x set of 12 Watercolors
  • 1x watercolor brush
  • 1x Bristle Brush
  • 1x Manuscript Writing Pen
  • 1x eraser
  • 1x 3B Pencil
  • 1x charcoal
  • 1x sharpener
  • 1x drawing stick


Camping Equipment
  • Three season sleeping bag - temperature rating "0" Celsius. All other bedding and towels are supplied
  • Small backpack would be useful for one-day trips
  • Light weight raincoat and/or windbreaker 
  • Medium weight hiking boots
  • Warm clothes: wool socks, gloves, head covering, sweater, long underwear (for optional glacier trip and alpine hike)
  • Bathing suit
  • Water bottle, flashlight, whistle, running shoes
  • Camera and more film than you would normally take
  • Traveler's Cheques
